Siblings & Cousins Working Together to Create Robust Businesses and Amazing Lives

For many families in business, one of the biggest challenges is balancing the needs of individual family members, the family as a whole and the needs of the business. Often this is posed as the question of choosing either to be a "family first or a business first."

For this Forum meeting we have an amazing opportunity to hear first hand about the very successful transition from the entrepreneurial founder to a sibling partnership at Edstrom Industries, Inc. But for the Edstrom's the "family first-business first" paradigm creates false dichotomies that limit the options and alternatives for family business transitions.

Using the Edstrom Family as our case study, successor, and eldest son of the founders, Bill Edstrom, Jr. joined with their family business advisor, Dean R. Fowler, Ph.D. will share the tools and techniques that underlie an alternative way of honoring family culture, individual passions, and still protecting the future of business success.

Meet The Speaker: Dean R. Fowler and Edstrom Industries, Waterford, WI

Dean Fowler, family business advisor in Wisconsin, will return for the third time to focus on siblings and cousins working together. Dean will bring one of his second generation clients who is a shareholder with two of his brothers from Edstrom Industries, corporate headquarters in Waterford, WI. One of the world's leading family business experts, Dean has consulted with over 180 family businesses. His book--Love, Power and Money: Family Business Between Generations--has won world-wide acclaim in reviews in family business publications as one of the best books on family business planning and development.
